Calling all families! This week we are challenging families to do some things to increase their awareness of the issues of hunger. One is the subsistence diet. Take a day or a meal each day, or perhaps the rest of the week through Friday to live off of some meager meal. We are doing rice and beans in the Campbell household. Another great opportunity we have to pay attention to the problem of hunger and do something with it is to come to SolidRockz  this week-- our new family program at 9:00 on Sundays! We will be 60 making bag lunches for the guests at the  Community Day Center in Waltham. WE need your help with this!!! We are looking for the for supply donations for this. We need: sliced ham, cheese, bread, chips and apples. Are you able to come and contribute? Let Kevin know at kcampbell@newtonpres.org.

When Hunger Comes Home 2013

Hi all! We're embarking once again on our church-wide challenge to gain greater understanding of hunger in the world and to think about how God may be calling us to respond to this global epidemic. Our youth will be doing the 30 Hour Famine Sat. 9/28-Sun. 9/29 (noon on Sat. through 6pm on Sun.) and we are coming alongside them as a church. We're encouraging folks to eat a subsistence diet from Mon. 9/23 - Fri. 9/27 and to join them in the 30 hour fast for the weekend.

Check back here this week for more information about hunger in the world and details about things that our youth will be doing to raise awareness and money to help those in need around the world.

The 30 Hour Famine is sponsored by World Vision and all money will be given to them to help children in need. Each dollar raised can help feed and care for a child for a day. Click here to donate to our youth doing the famine.
